Food squads to check hotels and shops at Sabarimala

The Food and Civil Supplies Department has formed squads to keep a tab on the quality and price of the food items served in the hotels of Sannidhanam, Nilakkal, and Pampa. The price of the food items will be displayed in the hotels. Strict action will be taken against the hoteliers who violate the norms set by the department. Squads will take out inspections at hotels and shops here, the department said.

Legal Metrology Department has also deployed food squads at Sannidhanam, Pampa, Nilakkal, Laha and other places.

The Pathanamthitta District Administration has also published the prices of food items as part of the ongoing Mandala-Makaravilakku season. This has been done so as to bring regularity in the prices of food items in hotels and to prevent fleecing of the devotees by the hotels and restaurants. District Collector PB Nooh has given the orders on Monday.
